Comics Aloud!
Fri 21 Aug 2026 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM AEST
Join us for an evening of independent comics from local and guest interstate cartoonists on Friday 21 August!
βComics Aloud!β aims to showcase the fantastic talents of current Australian cartoonists and comic makers, with a special focus on independent artists local to Brisbane.
Weβre making comic reading a spectator event by inviting some of our favourite local creators to display and read a selection of their short stories to a live audience.
Expect to experience graphic storytelling from across a wide range of genres, from autobio to politics, fact to fiction, the stories on show will be as varied as the wide world of comics, cartoons, and their creators.
Weβll be announcing some surprise guests and local creators in the run up to the event, so stay tuned to our social page for updates.
Join us for this special night of comics on the eve of Brisbaneβs biggest and longest running comic event Comic Street taking place at The Edge on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August, and meet the creators and cartoonists behind the panels.
