Featuring a lineup of Improv Queensland’s keenest improvisers, this laid-back and playful show will see our performers bring classic improv games to life and create amusing scenes on the spot. From clever wordplay to eccentric character portrayals, they'll showcase their quick thinking and comedic timing to surprise and delight you.
But the real spirit of The Improv Social is in the name. This is a relaxed, welcoming environment where audiences and performers share the room, the laughs, and the experience together. Whether you’re coming with friends, flying solo, or keen to meet fellow lovers of improv, it’s the perfect chance to grab a drink, settle in, and enjoy some spontaneous fun.

A live DJ will be setting the tone all day, with food and drinks flowing and non-stop energy from start to finish. Whether you’re hunting for statement pieces, digging through racks, or just coming for the vibe, this is the place to be.

The Only Thing Worse You Could Have Told Me

Brisbane is hosting the international premiere of the seminal LGBTQ+ play by Dan Butler (’Frasier’).
Performed by the Matilda Award winning actor CJ de Mooi, this stunning piece of theatre features 11 different characters of all ages exploring all aspects of gay life. Set in the USA in the 1990s, The Only Thing Worse You Could Have Told Me is an insightful, poignant and often funny play that is all the more relevant today.
Runtime: 90 MINUTES

In hilarious, touching, and catchy songs, each speller reveals his/her hopes, struggles, and passions as they make their way through the competition.
With an engaging, tuneful score by William Finn and a sweet, funny book by Rachel Sheinkin.
